If you didn’t noticed, the guys over at WordPress released version 2.9.1 yesterday. It contains a few small fixes, as well as fixed the scheduling issue that a lot of people were having. We’re glad to see that this one of the problems they fixed, as we’ve heard from a few people that they were having issues scheduling their blog posts.

If you haven’t updated your WordPress website yet, we highly recommend doing it as soon as possible. Just go to the tools section and choose upgrade.

If you haven’t noticed, we have relaunched our WordPress Crash Course and now offer two different packages. One of them is the online course while the other one includes a 3 disc DVD set. So far, we’ve had a lot of success with the course and hope to see it continue.

One of our customers emailed us asking if they could promote the course in exchange for a commission. Unfortunately, we did not have an affiliate program setup when we launched the course. However, we have since decided that it would be a great idea to add one.

Our New Affiliate Program

We’ve gone ahead and listed our online WordPress Crash Course in the Clickbank marketplace. Now you can promote our course on your website or blog. We’ll pay you a 40% commission every time you make a sale through your affiliate link.

To become…

If you haven’t done so yet, make sure to upgrade your WordPress installation(s) to version 2.8.5. The latest version was released yesterday and has a handful of security fixes. A few worth noting from the WordPress development blog include:

  • A fix for the Trackback Denial-of-Service attack that is currently being seen.
  • Removal of areas within the code where php code in variables was evaluated.
  • Switched the file upload functionality to be whitelisted for all users including Admins.
  • Retiring of the two importers of Tag data from old plugins.

As always, it’s important to upgrade as soon as possible to give yourself the best protection against attacks and hackers. So make it a goal today to get all of your blogs/websites upgraded to the newest version!

boobs_300x250In case you didn’t know, the month of October is International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So everyone should help do their part to raise awareness, whether it’s through blogging, walking, or anything else you can think up. The more people that help, the more people will become aware of this deadly disease.

I’m also pleased to announce that the people over at WooThemes are running a new campaign this month entitled “We Love Boobs.” They will be donating 20% of total sales of any of their business themes and 100% of their total sales of two of their new themes to a local breast cancer charity.

It’s great to see people from the WordPress community helping raise awareness. It really shows how nice of community we have going on and it’s what I enjoy most about using WordPress.

So if you’ve been thinking about purchasing a premium WordPress theme, now is the time to do it! Head on over to WooThemes and check out their business themes.

After a few months of debating, we’ve finally decided to launch a WordPress Crash Course!

So what’s included? We’ve put together 16 high quality videos showing you how to use the WordPress dashboard. The course covers everything from the dashboard all the way up to managing your content.

The course is broken down in to 10 different sections. That way each video is short enough to watch in a few minutes. Plus we wanted each video to only cover a certain topic. That way you can easily skim through and find the one you want to watch at any time.

Here’s a quick look at the various sections…

If you haven’t noticed, we’ve spent a lot of time working on the ZoopMedia website this past weekend. A lot of design changes were made, as well as a few featured added. We thought it would be a good idea to fill everyone in on the changes.

Design Changes

Here’s an overview of the design changes we made:

  • The most obvious of the changes is the new orange background at the top of all posts, pages, and the home page. Prior to the change it was blue, but we decided we wanted to add some color. It sticks out a lot more now, which we think is a good thing.
  • We also added the Why WordPress? and Portfolio buttons to the homepage, to make it easy to find the information most people look for when they first come to our website.
  • The graphics

affiliated-woothemes-workerWe’re please to announce that we are now an official affiliated worker of WooThemes. What does that mean?

It means we have been added to the list of certified WordPress designers that specialize in customizing WooThemes.

That means you can count on us to modify, customize, or build upon any of the themes available from WooThemes.

We applied about a week ago and were just notifed that we’ve been added to the list. We simply had to show them our portfolio of projects that we’ve done using WooThemes, including this very site.

Believe it or not, this site runs off of a heavily modified version of the Suit and Tie theme. It’s come a long way since we purchased it and continues to evolve on a day to day basis.
