Great Feedback on Wordpress, we use it on our site and are now recommending it to our clients.

The great thing about wordpress is the Newbie can easily change the design of there site with our the cost of a webmaster. easy as upload and click.

Hey Lee, I highly recommend WordPress. It works great for things like small businesses, consulting firms, and other things that require services. We use it here on our site to promote our services. There are a lot of good themes available for small businesses and you can see a lot of them in our Premium WordPress themes section.

Lately I have been hearing more and more about CMS and the fact that brochure websites are dead, and that content needs to be changed regularly in order to keep a site relevant. Do you think I should consider Word Press as a legitimate choice for my small business website? I do also need to sell services (not products) on my site, and most of the ecommerce companies out there (Amazon, Yahoo) are adept at selling products, not services. Any advice?

Jane, Wordpress is likely perfect for such a site. It’s on of the easiest CMSs to set up, and it’s super highly supported.

Hey Jane,

The nice thing about WordPress is that it’s so flexible. It will only do as much as you want it to do. I think it would work great for you, especially since you can learn how to manage the site yourself and not have to count on a web designer to make changes.

Wordpress for sure has the best theming structure of all the CMS packages out there. Would love to see a post about the biggest sites that run Wordpress. I’ve seen a few, but haven’t seen many big sites that operate as a true CMS (with forums, job boards, & other community features, ecommerce etc.).

I know the CNN sites that are run off Wordpress are not the main CNN.com site, but just their blogs sites…correct me if I’m wrong!
